Social Benefits
Blood is a precious bless & a priceless one. Blood or its components
is used in many therapeutic cases and surgical operations which save
humans’ life. More than 90% of people will have a relative or friend
who would need blood to save his/ her life. Therefore, having a
central blood bank is considered crucial for the following reasons:
-
The Occurrence of
wars & natural disasters leading to the urging need of
blood for surgical operations.
-
Driving accidents
or occupational injuries require the availability of blood.
Extensive burns necessitate the presence of plasma.
-
For cancer
patients, or chronic hematological diseased patients as
hemoglobinopathies or Anemia caused by kidney failure. They are
in constant need for transfusion of blood or one of its
components; especially Red Blood Cells.
-
In cases of bone
marrow depletion after radiotherapy or chemotherapy, and in
patients suffering from platelets dysfunction, the transfusion
of platelets is needed.
-
Patients who
suffer from genetic hematological disorder leading to
uncontrolled bleeding, especially in hemophilia patients needing
with Factor VIII and Factor IX.
-
The spoilage of a
large amount of blood (expired and not used) regardless to its
need is referred to the lack of central database that connects
blood banks in hospitals with a central blood bank.
-
Encouraging
healthy individuals to donate blood & spreading the culture of
blood donation which returns on the donor with: * Increase the
activity of bone marrow producing new blood cells.
-
Increase in blood
circulation activity & eliminating headache. Decreasing blood
pressure in patients with slight ↑blood pressure.
-
As part of the
donation process, a complete medical check up with laboratory
intensive examination is preformed including venereal diseases.
Assuring wellbeing healthy status for everyone.
-
Helping others is
a noble act as it saves other’s lives, or regains a smile. For
it is indeed a charity on behalf of ones soul which bless it
with the spirit of contentment and rejoice.
Religious Benefits
Our Community is virtuous & compassionate, it helps those in need.
It is a community motivated by the words of the Holy Quraan when it
states:
(Help you one another in Al-Birr and At- Taqwa (Virtue,
righteousness and piety)Al Ma’idah
(2), and when our dear prophet says (Such the believers in their
love and their mercy and their sympathy, as the body, if one of its
parts part complains, all other parts of it falter with staying up
and with the fever). [1]
It is an act of revival for human life. God has declared in His Holy
Quran: (And if anyone saves a life, it would be as if he saved the
life of all mankind). Al Ma’idah (32). There is no difference what
so ever if a person made donation with his money or his blood, for
they are both generous and their generosity will receive blessings
form our God[2].
It is true; good deeds shield us from dreadful closure at the end of
our lives. Indeed, money or blood donation is an obligation on every
aspect; religiously, humanly and socially [3].
We’ve learned from our prophet PBUH that with donation, ones
possession of money will not lessen, but rather grow and multiply,
says Prophet Mohammed PBUH: (Wealth is not diminished by giving “to
charity”) [4].
On the other hand, blood donation is a selfless & magnanimous deed
that shall be blessed by God, in this life and the after life. It
places love amongst people. It is a proof of true magnanimity &
shows real affections [5].
There are no side effects for blood donation, but proved to hold
many benefits for both the donor & the recipient [6]. It is a
charity on behalf of ones who are fortunate with health (So, Who
ever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant) shall
see it)Al-Zalzala (8). [7]
Our beloved prophet PBUH had declared that in donation of any kind
is a way to alleviate ones anguish in judgment day when he says:
(And who opens a grieve of his brother, Allah does one on the doom’s
day for him, and who covers one Moslem, Allah covers him on the
doom’s day)[8].
